French as a foreign language (FLE)

Specialised in teaching French as a Foreign Language, Clarife aims to help students integrate as easily as possible into French university life and adapt to French culture through the development of language skills. Clarife proposes courses of weekly classes as well as various intensive courses. Students receive a certificate of their level at the end of each course.

Pre-university Programme

Our pre-university programme will give you the tools you need to quickly adjust to student life.
Whether you plan to study at the Université Catholique de Lille or another French institution, this course teaches not only the language skills, but also gives insight into the cultural aspects of studying in France.
The objects of this intensive course are to prepare you for methodologies used in higher education and develop your language skills.

Monday 19th August – Friday 30th August 2024

Number of hours : 50

Schedule
– 30 hours, programmed over the mornings on most days
– 20 hours of conversation classes spread over several afternoons

Course levels

Students will be placed in groups according to their level
(Beginner to Upper-intermediate)

ECTS : 4 credits

Students having followed the entire course will receive a certificate detailing their marks. Some students, if their parent institutions agree, may receive course credits (ECTS).

Whether you are looking to improve or perfect your spoken French to be able to communicate spontaneously or you want to make sure all your writing is clear and coherent, our classes offer an ideal learning environment. PREPARATION FOR THE DELF/DALF

If you plan to sit the DELF or DALF certification to attest your level of French, we have preparation classes that will help improve your score. Our expert instructors will teach you the linguistic skills and the methodology necessary to take this certification with confidence.

SPRING PROGRAMME

We offer modules to help students enrich their French skills though studying language and culture. Students can enroll in any combination of modules:

– Grammar (25h): deepen your knowledge of grammar in order to master the linguistic tools necessary for effective use of the French language.
– Written Expression (25h): practice expressing your ideas concisely through academic and professional writing.
– Civilisation and Culture (25h): reinforce your knowledge of France with a special focus on understanding current socio-cultural events.
– Literature and Cinema (25h): discover the details of some of the most renowned French literature and cinema.
– Communication (30h): develop your communication skills to interact with ease in both formal and informal settings.
– Intercultural (20h): become more culturally self aware and learn to observe and interpret cultural influences in everyday behavior.

EUROPEAN SUMMER PROGRAMS

Our EUROPEAN SUMMER PROGRAM helps students learn French or improve their French language skills. This intense program is open to individuals from all backgrounds and provides an authentic intercultural
experience during the summer. Enroll in our morning French Second Langue courses and/or afternoon communication courses.
